The Phoenix Fund is a fund for abandoned pet animals that is named after our little wonder man Phoenix who has defied all odds after being left to die a miserable death.
A shih tzu, who was found in an unbelievable condition on the streets, with maggots eating him alive, wounds all over his body, matted fur and starving, he was finally reported by someone and was rushed to CARE. Our vets - particularly Dr Harshitha assisted by Dr Gayatri, stood for hours on their feet tending to the little fella's wounds. He ihad made a complete tecovery and now is a CARE resident.
In his name, for other abandoned pets like him, we have set up a fund exclusively for abandoned pet dogs who come in to our facility needing life saving care. Abandoned pets go through immense trauma - both physical and mental, after being discarded on the streets. Most of them have pre existing severe medical issues that need prompt treatment. Injuries, bite wounds infested with maggots, failing kidneys, skin issues, they battle so many horrific conditions all alone, while also suffering through anguish and the trauma of losing their home and humans.
Many of them are also discarded by breeders.
This is our chance to give them that second chance at life again.
